8. Turn the followers into proselytizing machines. Are you sick? Well keep recruiting. Depressed? Well keep recruiting it will cheer you up. Don’t go to college, recruit full time. Teach the followers that recruiting new members is the most important thing they can do in life.

9. Preemptively warn potential recruits that they will be persecuted for joining the one and only “True” church. When friends and family of the new recruit show concern about their loved one joining a cult, Jackpot. Then isolate the new recruit from non-cult members.

many people for one reason or other have quit going to the kingdom hall me included!

i dont object to the people for they are clean well dressed human beings, i object to the way a prefabricated doctorine is distributed, useing hugh amounts of books magazines and media to attempt to study the bible,i feel obligated to say i agree with that method and under pressure to promote it, theirfore i stoped going because pretending to agree with this method and rendering lip service to it in order to keep from being disfellowshiped is a lie,and liers go to the lake of fire, .

so now that we have left the hall were do we go?

This thread brings up one of my main problems with Christianity. I believe it encourages delusional behavior and psychologically unhealthy ways of thinking. Lets just encourage people who hear voices by planting the idea that maybe the voice they’re hearing comes from a magical being who lives in the sky. Encouraging schizophrenic behavior is not morally ethical and it‘s also very dangerous.

Demons and the WTS

i remember growing up and hearing all sorts of stories about demonic activity from people.

some would be experiences that people had going door to door and visiting a "witch" or "warlock".

some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.

How strong is your faith? Do you think you could drink Drano and it wouldn't hurt you? I would love to hear the perspective of a believer about that passage.

BrotherDan, sorry about taking the thread off topic. To answer the orginal question, I don't believe in demons or satan, so naturally I don't believe in demonic possesion. I also don't believe in talking donkeys, it was very liberating for me when I came to the realization that just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean it's true.

I'm going to the Kindom Hall to please my parents

my parents are visting from florida and i agreed to take them to the kingdom hall for a meeting, but i'm just doing to make them feel comfortable while they are here.

i told them i'll be sitting in the back with jeans and sneakers playing with my i phone.

i made shure they didn't get any wrong impressions about me returning to the kingdom hall.

you guys have issues!the bottom line is the bible says that we should abstain from blood!Jehovah will correct you in his time!

You explained it so simply Makonnen. Thank you. I'm going to start abstaining from blood now. If I don't abstain from blood Yahweh will correct me. By correcting you mean murder or destroy right? I certainly don't want to be murdered by God so I will start abstaining from blood.

I am a little confused about what it means to “abstain” though, please clarify. Is it okay for me to eat a medium rare steak or any food with traces of blood in it? What about when my wife has her "monthly visitor"? How do I abstain from her? Should I avoid sitting in any chairs she has sat on? I could sleep in a separate bed during that time but I need to make sure what God actually requires. I certainly don’t want to be murdered by God.
